Official Language: The official language will be English. Currency Exchange: The money system in India is based on Rupees (Rs.) and paisa (P.) (Re.1 equal to 100 paisa). In the morning drive (155 km) to Uttarkashi (1150 m). Uttarkashi is located on the banks of river Bhagirathi at an altitude of 1352 m above sea level. Vishwanath Temple Vishwanath temple in Uttarkashi is one of the prime pilgrimage attractions in Uttarkashi around 300 mts from the local bus stand. An ancient temple, it is said that it was first built by Parasuram. Later, it was renovated by Maharani Khaneti, wife of Sudarshan Shah in 1857. The temple has a Shivling, 60 cms high and 90 cms in circumference. No one misses this holy shrine on their trip to Uttarkashi. Shakti TempleThis temple is just opposite Vishwanath temple. A big Trishul in this temple is the centre of attraction. The trishul is 6 metres in height and 90 cms at the bottom. Different people hold different views about the trishul, it is widely believed that the trishul is made of iron in the upper part and copper in the lower part. The epics say that this trishul was thrown at devils by goddess Durga.

Ganga is descending from heaven to earth here, it is in the midst of giant deodars and conifers, nestles the tiny settelment of Gangotri from Gaumukh to Devprayag. Ganga is known as Bhagirathi. On the right bank of the river is the holy temple of Ganga, whilst on the left bank there are few Ashrams, Hindus from all over the world show undying faith in these shrines. The temple of Ganga was originally constructed by the Gorkha General Amar Singh Thapa of Nepal. The word Gangotri exudes peace and divine love, it means that Ganga is descending from Heaven to Earth at this spot. Hundreds of years back, the entire stretch of land from Gaumukh to Gangotri was covered with glaciers and Ganga emerged at this place.

Day – 1: Arrival at New Delhi (capital of India) You will be received by our representative who will assist you with boarding an air-conditioned vehicle and escort you to a 3-star hotel for an overnight stay (overnight at New Delhi). Get as much rest as you can, as the next day early morning you will depart for an 8-10 hr long drive (approx. 350kms) with the last 60kms of hill climb. Day – 2: Arrival at Mukteshwar
It is a haven for nature/peace lovers. This destination was found by the British in 1893 when they set up the Indian Veterinary Research Institute. You may not find a better place than Mukteshwar for yoga and meditation, surrounded by an distinctively long ridge with valleys on both sides. The environment is full of positive energies. Panoramic views of the snow clad Himalayan peaks can be seen from Mukteshwar. Among the major Himalayan peaks visible from Mukteshwar are Nanda Devi, Nanda Kot, Nandaghunti, Trishul and Panchachuli. Check in, freshen up and enjoy your lunch. An afternoon/evening yoga session will be held at the Resort. Later in the evening, if keen, you can head for a short walk to the nearby sunset point. Mukteshwar is a hikers’ haven as you have trails all around so feel free to head into any direction. Overnight at Mukteshwar. Wake up early in the morning to experience the awe-inspiring sunrise from behind the mountain ranges, if the horizon is clear you can see the Himalayan Range too. Follow it through with a yoga session and after breakfast visit the Mukteshwar Township with its 20-25 sq. kms of dense virgin forest with coniferous & Himalayan oak trees. Visit the century-old Shiva temple, Jim Corbett’s Bungalow and the famous Chauli Ki Jaali Cliff which is an outcrop of rocks overlooking a straight drop of approx. 2000 feet. The spellbinding effect of the scenic views and pure air compliment the rejuvenation process and help remove toxins. Return to the Resort for lunch. After lunch proceed to an innovative yoga session. Evening at leisure by the bonfire with soothing music played on a Kumaoni flute in the background. Overnight at Mukteshwar. Day – 4:
You can also enjoy some mild adventure activities like rock climbing, rappelling, and river crossing at Padampuri (mild adventure activities are chargeable, extra cost). Enjoy your lunch out in the wilderness of Padampuri forest and return to the Resort by the evening. Overnight at Mukteshwar.
Transformational Yoga Program for the day: 7:30 AM - 8:30 AM - “Chakra Set” (Paschimottanasana, Janushirshasana, Padaprasa Paschimottanasana, Titli asana, Ushtrasana, Marjariasana, Shashank asana, Parvatasana), plus some standing asanas. 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM - Introduction to Transformational Yoga – Part II, Introduction to Mantras & Chanting Day – 5: A full day of yoga and meditation at the Resort.
